FIT Tip of the Month: The Fuss About Flaxseeds (by Frances Michaelson, Muscle-Up Canada owner) Sold as seeds, an oil, or a ground meal, flax contains high amounts of alpha-linolenic acid, a type of fat that can boost immunity, blood flow and possibly endurance. Flax also keeps your platelets from clumping together and forming dangerous clots.
Some easy ways to incorporate them into your diet are to use ground flaxseed when baking muffins, buy breakfast cereals that contain flax or simply add some flaxseed oil to your salad dressings.

Gay has motivated participants and fitness leaders alike for over 30 years as physical education teacher, fitness instructor, program director; older adults exercise specialist and community recreation leader.
She is owner of Aristo-Fit and teaches over 200 older adults in her private weekly fitness classes – and this is in a town of only 5000 people! Gay is director of the “Old Spice Girls”, a founding director at the YMCA of Hudson, Quebec, and in 2000, was one of three finalists for the Montreal YWCA’s “Women of Distinction” award. Her work has been recognized in national publications including the Montreal Gazette, Canadian Living and the ICAA Journal.

Speciality: Kinesitherapy, Pre-hab and Post Rehabilitation Exercise
Craig Hubert, R.M.T., SSC (pending)
Starting in the fitness field in 1997, Craig Hubert has worked with a multitude of clientele ranging from inactive seniors, post surgery patients and high level athletes..
He now runs Homebodies, a health and fitness company focused on providing in home and in office Massage therapy and Personal training services to time constrained individuals.
A Massage Therapist with a specialization in Kinesitherapy, Craig is currently working towards his SSC (Specialist in Sports Conditioning) certification through the ISSA.
